Kubuntu at LinuxTag 2006

The Kubuntu booth at LinuxTag (3 - 6 May 2006) was an outstanding success. Days full of events and an optimal atmosphere made the event a great experience for all participants.

Despite the short preparation period, there were a lot of volunteers like Andreas Mueller, Stephan Hermann, Kenneth Wimer (who created also the awesome banner for the booth), Markus Wimmer, Mirjam Waeckerlin, Achim Bohnet, Anthony Mercatante, Jonathan Riddell and Raphael Pinson who held a talk about Kubuntu. Special thanks go to Andreas Brunner who helped to make this all possible.

1500 Kubuntu CD's were given out

The booth had a lot visitors, many questions were answered and there was lots of conversations and discussions.

We had very good feedback from the users of Kubuntu, newcomers especially were very interested and optimistic. Corporate clients also met Kubuntu with interest.

The Kubuntu CDs, which one could obtain at the booth, were very popular.

KDE Social Event at LinuxTag

At the end of LinuxTag not even one of the 1500 CDs was left.

For a minimal price there were also Kubuntu stickers and mugs available, furthermore there was the possibility to donate in order to cover the expenses of the booth.

Beside the project presentations at the booths and the conferences, one also had the possibility to meet a lot interesting people and socialise during the social events.

On Saturday, the meetings about the future of Kubuntu (previously announced from Mark Shuttleworth) took place.

The team gained a lot of experience so that we can further improve the presentation of Kubuntu at the next event and we'd be very pleased to meet you on the next LinuxTag 2007 at our booth.
